Engineering Project Sequence

Our priority is to provide our customers with a professional and involved experience, to ensure this we follow the project sequence outline below.

Outline project requirements

Through a series of on-site and virtual meetings our Engineering team will outline all of the project requirements.

Rough order of magnitude ("rom")

The ROM will provide an outline of the concept, rough timeline and budgetary figures. This ROM will facilitate a more technical discussion of the project and outline the basic scope of the project.

Scope of work ("sow")

Once the ROM is finalized our team will develop a SOW that outlines the detailed project requirements, timeline & milestones, payment terms and responsibilities of all parties involved.

Quotation

Upon acceptance of the proposal, an official quotation will be provided. Quotations will always reference a SOW document.

Design phase

The design phase of the project will be initiated at the receipt of the deposit. Our team will begin to dive into a detailed design of the project. Throughout this process a series of virtual and/or in-person meetings will take place. This will allow the engineering team to discuss any open questions or concerns and provide the customer with status updates.

Manufacturing & Assembly

Once the design has been completed and approved by the customer, our team will begin to manufacture and assemble components for the project. Software development will be executed in parallel with manufacturing and assembly.

Testing

As assembly comes to completion, testing of the machine will begin. The performance of the machine will be tested against material/part samples provided by the customer and the necessary adjustments will be made to move the machine to a production state.

Factory Acceptance Test ("fat")

At this stage, the machine will be in a production state. An FAT will be scheduled with the customer at Fine Line Machine's facility. During this FAT, a series of tests will be performed with the customer to validate the machine meets all requirements outlined in the SOW.

Shipping

At the completion of the FAT, delivery of the machine will be coordinated with the customer.

Site Acceptance Test ("sat")

Once received at the customers facility, a SAT will be scheduled. An Engineer from Fine Line Machine will come onsite to run a series of tests with the customer present to ensure nothing was affected during shipping and the machine is still operating properly.
